• August, 2008: Fund Raising Program at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata to facilitate the liver transplant of Subhojit Pal, a 7 month old baby. Eminent artists like Srikanto Acharya, Lopamudra Mitra, Bikram Ghosh, Abhijit Bose performed in this concert, the sale proceeds of which were handed over to Subhojit Pal´s family.

  • August, 2008: LFWB received their 1st felicitation from Kolkata Reserve Bank Employee´s Cooperative Credit Society Ltd.

  • July, 2008: Inauguration of Massanjore Peripheral Centre, along with free clinic facility for the underprivileged people of the locality. RHCP training also began from that day at Massanjore.

  • June, 2008: 1st Workshop on capacity building of Rural Health Care Providers Training (RHCP) at SSKM Hospital, Kolkata. Eminent Doctors, Social Scientists, Researchers, Journalists participated and shared their views about the training program.

  • June, 2008: Celebration of 3rd Foundation Day at Rotary Sadan Kolkata. The First Screening of the Health Documentary film on Liver Disease and Hepatitis B, by eminent film director Shri Buddhadeb Dasgupta productions was also held. Eminent doctors graced the occasion.

  • May, 2008: 1st Activity visit of LFWB by Ms. Phangisile Mtshali, Director of BMSF. She observed our activities for 3 days.

  • March, 2008: Inauguration of Nadia Peripheral Centre, along with RHCP training program.

  • February, 2008: A Concert for Charity was organized at the Science City Auditorium, Kolkata to raise funds to form a Corpus Fund for supporting those underprivileged people who are awaiting liver transplantation. Eminent artists like Bikram Ghosh, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Arjun Chakraborty performed for this noble cause and legendary cricket player Sourav Ganguly was also present to extend his support for this cause.

  • December, 2007: Agreement signed with Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation (BMSF) at India Habitat Center, New Delhi for the project "Science to Society" - an eastern dream for the prevention of Hepatitis B. The tenure of the project was from December, 2007 to November 2010.

  • April, 2007: Inauguration of Birbhum Peripheral Centre along with rural health care provider´s training program at Suri, Birbhum. This project is funded by Department of Health, Govt. of West Bengal.

  • March, 2007: Fundraising event for the liver transplant of Raj Goswami, a young boy from Siliguri. The Then-Indian Cricket Team Captain Mr. Sourav Ganguly auctioned his cricket bat to raise fund for this cause at Conclave Banquet, Kolkata.

  • January, 2007: First fundraising event of LFWB at Tolly Club, Kolkata. The event also saw the launch of music CD of Dr. Kalyan Bose, Vice President, LFWB. Dr. Bose recorded his 10 songs for this event.

  • December, 2006: 1st Kolkata Liver Meeting at Science City, Kolkata on Hepatic Fibrosis. Leading researchers from across the globe participated in the event. The list included Scott L Friedman (Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, USA), Massimo Pinzani (Italy), James L Boyer (USA), Ian Wanless (Canada), Vlad Ratziu (France). The meeting was sponsored by Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) and the Indian National Association for Study of the Liver (INASL). Over 250 physicians, gastroenterologists, hepatologists and students from India and Bangladesh took part in the two-and-a-half-day long meeting.

  • 30th June, 2006: Inauguration of LFWB by Prof. Amartya Sen at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata. Other distinguished guests were Sri Nirupam Sen, Minister in charge, Department of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of West Bengal, Sri Mrinal Sen, legendary film director & Hon´ble Secretary, Ramkrishna Mission, Belur Math.
