Saradish Roy Smriti Swasthya Bitan

Liver Foundation has built a rural health care research and intervention centre, which serves as the organization's headquarters, at Nagari village of Birbhum District in West Bengal. Keeping in mind the rural focus of the organization, it was a conscious decision to locate the head quarters in a rural area. The centre has been named Saradish Roy Smriti Swasthya Bitan, after a noted physician of the people and social activist, who hailed from the village Nagari in Birbhum. The foundation stone was laid by the Additional Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research - Dr. Sujit K Bhattacharya on 14th January, 2009. For the construction of this building Liver Foundation has received funds from the MPLADS scheme of Mr. Shyamal Chakraborty, Hon'ble MP (Rajya Sabha) as well as from the Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal. This Institute has been inaugurated by Professor Ajoy Ray, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Bengal Engineering & Science University on 14th January 2011. Outdoor facilities in General Medicine, Pediatrics and Gastroenterology and also an eye clinic for the rural people of the surrounding localilities are organised here. Training and orientation programmes of Rural Health Care Providers are being conducted here.
