Liver Foundation West Bengal has begun a program entitled "LAKSHYAVED" - an initiative to guide students who are preparing themselves for Joint Entrance Medical and Engineering Examination, at Suri, Birbhum in association with Birbhum District administration, Baharampore, Murshidabad & New Garia, Kolkata. These programs has been inaugurated on April, 2010 in Birbhum, May 2012 in Murshidabad & May 2013 in Kolkata. It will be a 1 year curriculum - April to March and students for the curriculum will be selected on the basis of merit. The entire project will be "no cost" for the students. The management will ensure that no charges, covert or overt, are ever put on the students linked to this project.
On the basis of a competitive exam, 50 students will be selected. Among these, 11 seats will be reserved for students belonging to Scheduled Castes, 3 seats for students of Scheduled Tribes and 4 seats will be kept reserved for OBC. The questions for the exam will be in accordance with joint entrance examination. The eligibility criteria are:
This will be a 1 year training program, with classes to be held on every Saturday and Sunday (Suri,Birbhum & Baharampore Murshidabad) & only Saturday (New Garia,Kolkata). Classes will be conducted by reputed, professional and respected teachers and professors. In addition to this, teachers from other districts may also participate. Motivation and advice will also be provided by students who have been successful in medical entrance exams.

Questions will be set in accordance with the curriculum of Class XI. The exam will be conducted on the following 3 subjects :
The selection test will be conducted for 2 hours.
Medium of Language will be Bengali, as majority of the students of Birbhum district give their exams in Bengali.
Lakshyaved is just a small initiative on the part of Liver Foundation, West Bengal to come to the aid of the students of Birbhum, Murshidabad & Kolkata district and help them in achieving success, in the process only hoping that they never forget their roots.
