Metabolic Health awareness program regarding "Life-style disease & Diabetes" was held on 5th March, 2013 at "Barogram village", Birbhum.

Awareness programme on Hepatitis Prevention & health Promotion were held at "Janakalyan High School" (Kalyani, Nadia) on 26th February 2013.

Awareness programme on Advocacy And Liver Health were held at Purulia District Correctional Home and at GNM Nursing training school. Advocacy awareness was also held at Red Cross Society and Industrial Training Institute in Kalyani.

Kolkata Liver Meeting was held at Taj Bengal, Kolkata and eminent doctors attended the conference. The theme of the meeting was NAFLD/NASH - INDO - EUROPEAN Summit.

Awareness programme on Hepatitis C and Advocacy were held at a Web Designing firm Ayan Advisory Pvt Ltd at on 19th November, 2012 Chakdah, Nadia.

A one day brain storming workshop on "Rural Health Care Providers in India-the context and relevance, regulation and research" was held with the support of Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation on 18th November, 2012 at the conference hall of Alipur campus of Calcutta University. The meeting started with a welcome address by Dr. Abhijit Chowdhury. The meeting was planned to discuss issues such as relevance of the RHCPs in the existing and emerging rural health care paradigms in India based on available research. Various eminent personalities attended the meeting including Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee (Professor of Economics, MIT & Director, J PAL) & Barun Kanjilal (Professor of Health Economics & Dean Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, India) who chaird the sessions.

Dr. Chandrakant Patil Memorial Health lecture was held at Purulia at Haripada Sahitya Mandir on 15th November, 2012. The programme was attended by Minister Shantiram Mahato, MLA K.P Singh Deo and other eminent personalities. 15 medical students of Purulia district who have joined Medical College this year have been awarded with Dr. Chandrakant Patil Memorial Award.

A three day conference on "Centre of Excellence (CoE)" was organized at The Grand Oberoi, Kolkata to mark the completion of 5 years of sustained support in research & action towards liver health awareness extended to different Indian partners by Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation-a leading global corporate philanthropy.Mrs. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon'ble Minister of State, Department of Health & Family welfare, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated the conference. Mr. John Damonti, President, Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation & Mrs. Phangisile Mtshali Manciya, Director, Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation were present at the ocassion along with other dignitaries.

The temporary Out-patient Department was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Liver & Digestive Sciences at Sonarpur on October 14, 2012. The department was inaugurated by Mr. Jeeban Mukhopadhyay,MLA, South Sonarpur, in the presence of our President Dr. Ashokananda Konar, Vice-President Dr. Kalyan Boae and Secretary Dr. Abhijeet Chowdhury. Special guest at the event was Mr. Srinjoy Bose, Hon'ble MP. Eminent doctors of Gastro-enterology will attend the OPD for the people in the vicinity of Sonarpur.

Awareness programmes on Hepatitis C and Advocacy Programmes were held in Majherchor Satyapriyo Roy Smriti Vidyapith and Shikshayatan School in Kalyani, Scottish Church and Bethune Collegiate Schools in Kolkata and also in Netaji Vidyapith and Chittaranjan Balika Vidyalaya of Purulia, Police Barrack and a local club- in Purulia town.

Dr. Chandrakant Patil Memorial lecture was held at Suri, Birbhum, the lecture was attended by the Assistant District Magistrate of Birbhum District on 9th September, 2012. 18 students of Birbhum District who have joined Medical Colleges this year for their medical studies have been awarded with the Dr. Chandrakant Patil Memorial Award. This award giving ceremony was held at Rabindra Sadan from 6 to 9 pm, Baharampur on 10th September, 2012. 20 students of Murshidabad District who have joined Medical Colleges this year received the award. Dr. Chandrakant Patil Memorial Health Dialog was held on 11th September, 2012 at Rotary Sadan from 6pm to 9 pm. The topic for the motion was "Best of Medical Care for most in India-Realization of a dream". Eminent personalities like Dr. Sugata Marjit, Dr. Manabi Majumder, Dr. Krishnendu Mukherjee & Dr. Abhijit Chowdhury were the speakers in this program. Dr Achin Chakraborty and Mr. Dilip Ghosh were the moderators at this event.

'World Hepatitis Day' was observed. Exhibition on Hepatitis by Hepatitis patients was held at Calcutta YMCA. Greetings cards and handicrafts prepared by patients were displayed and offered for sale in the exhibition. This exhibition was inaugurated by Sri Shantiram Mahato, Hon?ble Minister Incharge, Self Help Group & Self Employment, Govt. of West Bengal from 28th to 29th July, 2012.

The 'Molecular Virology Laboratory' was inaugurated at the central office of Liver Foundation, West Bengal. Dr. Sushanto Bandopadhyay, Director of Medical Education & Ex-Officio Secretary, Dept. of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal, inaugurated the laboratory. Also present at the inauguration were President of Liver foundation-Dr. Ashokananda Konar, Secretary-Dr. Abhijit Chowdhury, Treasurer-Dr. Amal Santra, Project Director-Dr. Partha Sarathi Mukherjee and other eminent doctors on 28th July, 2012.

A 'Student Health Summit' (training on public health campaign and Hepatitis prevention) was held at the central office of Liver Foundation, West Bengal. 20 students from 4 schools of Kolkata participated in this summit from 14th to 15th July, 2012.
